For a first visit to Jávea, choose by occasion: BonAmb, Tula, Masena or Chola for a special meal; Volta i Volta, La Rebotica, Casa Grau or Bar Mercat in the old town; Sotavent, Tasca Port or Tal Cual by the harbour; and Bohemians, Chabada or La Siesta near the Arenal and Muntanyar.
An editorial selection by Nura Stays, based on the local guide we provide to guests. Please confirm menus, opening hours and availability directly with each establishment.
Fine dining and special occasions
BonAmb, Tula, Masena and Chola offer four different takes on a special meal in Jávea: creative cooking in a garden setting, sensitive treatment of produce, Mediterranean fusion and well-travelled flavours without stiffness.
Book ahead and leave time for the experience. Menus and opening days can change seasonally, so confirm directly with each restaurant.

Old town: restaurants with personality
The historic centre is full of small dining rooms with character. Volta i Volta serves creative Mediterranean cooking; La Rebotica occupies a former pharmacy; Casa Grau reinterprets tradition; and Bar Mercat stays close to market produce.
Our shortlist also includes La Cajita Azul, La Sucreria, Trinquet, Temblor and Aya Huma for cocktails. Explore this area on foot rather than simply choosing the first free terrace.

- Trinquet and Temblor
- Aya Huma for cocktails
The harbour: maritime tradition and seafront tables
The harbour is the area most closely tied to Jávea's fishing history. Sotavent serves Mediterranean food by the sea, Tasca Port focuses on fish, and Tal Cual pairs creative tapas with wine.
For a change of pace, Monsoon serves Thai and Indian flavours, Casa de la Pasta is Italian, and La Esquina rounds off the evening with cocktails. Book summer terrace tables ahead.

Arenal and Muntanyar: terraces and atmosphere
In this part of the bay, the setting matters as much as the menu. Bohemians offers French-influenced signature cooking, Chabada is relaxed and Mediterranean, and La Siesta is a beach-club option between the harbour and Arenal.
Austriaco Bakery is useful for bread and pastries, Acqua for grilled food and relaxed breakfasts, and Achill for nightlife. In August, confirm bookings and hours before setting off.

- Achill for music and drinks
What to order and how to choose
Marina Alta cooking combines coast and dry inland country. Look for rice cooked to order, the catch of the day, dried octopus, suquet de peix, savoury cocas and traditional sweets. Asking what came in that day is often wiser than ordering from habit.
This selection comes from the local guide Nura Stays gives its guests. It is not a paid list: it is a starting point, subject to changes in menu, season and availability.
